Main role: Design of specific primers for LAMP assays for detection of phytoplasmas of coconut in sub-Saharan Africa, including for discrimination between regional variants, and development, validation and training of personnel in the use of in-field, portable, rapid LAMP detection systems.

The Plant Sciences Division, in which this project Is located, is a centre of excellence for international research, accommodating one of the largest communities of plant scientists in the UK.
