TROPICSAFE project present at the 5th “bois noir” Workshop

The 5th “bois noir” Workshop will be held on September 18-19, 2018, at the City hotel in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The program of the workshop features the latest research in the most widespread phytoplasma disease of grapevine – “bois noir” disease, from epidemiology, vectors, diversity of ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma solani’-associated strains, plant-pathogen interactions and strategies for the disease control. The participants of the event will come from all main European wine growing countries, South Africa and Chile.

The international symposium is organised by the National Institute of Biology (partner of the TROPICSAFE consortium) and Cankarjev dom, the biggest congress centre of Slovenia.

Assunta Bertaccini, researcher from University of Bolonia and coordinator of the project, is one of the invited speakers at the conference, together with the president of the Scientific Committee Marina Dermastia from the National Institute of Biology.

Some of TROPICSAFE partners will also be present at the event, as the international workshop on “bois noir”, one of the diseases studied in the project, is organized back-to-back with the third consortium meeting.
