Main role: Design of specific primers for LAMP assays for detection of phytoplasmas of coconut in sub-Saharan Africa, including for discrimination between regional variants, and development, validation and training of personnel in the use of in-field, portable, rapid LAMP detection systems.

Description: The University of Nottingham is a Higher Education Institution in the UK and was rated eighth for research power in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and awarded Gold standard in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). The Plant Sciences Division, in which this project Is located, is a centre of excellence for international research, accommodating one of the largest communities of plant scientists in the UK.
